Sorry I got a touch carried away. My Wife still works at this nightmare of a place. There was lots of legitimate “bad reviews” but they all, we’re like one sentence, with not the greatest spelling-easy to disregard. So I decided to give my own rebuke. Btw I’d like to point out that this places name Purem stands for Pure Emissions, they use this to gain progressive support, they had me, but read in a little further, you realize, they have patented the only exhaust systems that follow the emissions standards, put in place by law. So on top of screwing over labor laws, they also are monopolists. They are a globalist company, too big to fail. They have factories in UKRAINE and RUSSIA! Kinda wonder which ones better to work for…..
If I could give 0 I would. This place is horrible, they have you sign an NDA when you start to deter former employees from doing, just this. So, the pay here is good, but they are buying something from you, your health, your family, and your sanity. Makes the money not seem quite worth it. First off, they have signs everywhere warning you about the poison gas that emits from the parts when they are welded, but in order to do the job required you have you stand right over the parts as they are emitting this gas which is called Hexavalent Chromium, and you have no choice but to breathe it in. A quick google of that name and you realize it is an extremely toxic gas. They have the machines hooked up to elaborate vents/vent systems, but if you ask around you find out they do not work because the suction causes a sensor on the curtain of the welder that drops down to mess up. So 0 ventilation, with cancerous gases everywhere. By law every company has to allow you a day off every 7 days but not at purem. It is a regular occurrence at Purem to be mandated to work 7 days a week, 12 hour shifts, and go months without a day off. And note, this is “MANDATORY”. Another issue which is why I no longer work there, every three months there is a layoff, unpaid, and without warning. They give you PTO, paid time off, but this is needed to account for planned days off because you are punished for those, I used my PTO days to receive a paycheck when we were laid off for Fourth of July, and the UAW strike. I stupidly thought that being one of the few workers who showed up, and worked, like I was supposed to, would be considered when 6-months-later I was sick for 2 days and was let go, but it did not. So there is that. Also, management is a beauraucratic mess, they’re there just enough to have no clue what’s going on, they are insulting, demeaning, and incompetent.
