Regarding WW2 controversy, I got a good one as my grandfather is a Latvian refugee. Latvia was “sold” off to the Soviet Union with the Stalin/Hitler pack, then ultimately “liberated” by Germany, where people celebrated the invasion for a short time before they started killing massive amounts of people.
Ultimately a German soldier helped my family escape to Germany, after stealing their home to use as a communications base, and they became refugees and moved to the US around 1950. 5+ years in a camp.
No i don’t support “hitler” but people need to remember war is a mess.
There are rarely any “good guys” in the a war story, it’s complicated, and I may not exist if it weren’t for that invasion of mg grandpas homeland.
